Module 2: Vascular Access Devices 1300 - 1600
Vascular Access Devices
- Identify different types of vascular access devices.
- Review care and management of CVADs including principles of aseptic technique to prevent CLABSIs.
- Review CVAD line patency assessment and flushing.
- Demonstrate proper technique for CVAD dressing changes.
- Demonstrate proper technique for CVAD cap changes.

- Identify ways to include play while providing care to children

- Review proper cleaning of tracheostomy tubes and equipment

Day 2: Invasive Home Ventilation – Management and Care
Learning objectives:
Mechanical Ventilation
- Review relevant anatomy and physiology
- Review basic concepts of ventilation
- Explore humidity through invasive ventilation
- Demonstrate the correct set-up of a mechanical ventilator
- Demonstrate appropriate patient care through simulations
